Partnership with Fondation Vincent van Gogh Arles

In the town of Arles in the South of France, a new museum has opened in honour of Vincent van Gogh, who spent a critical period of his existence as an artist there. The Fondation Vincent van Gogh opened its doors to the public on 5 April. The Van Gogh Museum gave several paintings on loan for the opening exhibition Colours of the North, Colours of the South, including The Yellow House (The Street) and Self Portrait. Knowledge and expertise in the field of security and collection management was also shared. Marije Vellekoop, Head of Art at the Van Gogh Museum, said: ‘We are happy about the opening of this new museum in Arles in the South of France, as in this way, there will be more attention to Van Gogh’s work and life in this town where he produced many important works.’
