New bookshop in the museum

On 1 March, the Van Gogh Museum’s bookshop was moved to the third floor. Visitors now find it at the end of their tour of the museum. That location has proved to work very well. Judging by the excellent sales results, many people have found something to their liking.

500 titles and a wonderful view
The shop holds around 500 titles and offers something for everyone. Naturally, the range includes museum publications, such as the museum guides, the Masterpieces books and the exhibition catalogues, but there are also many other titles. The main theme may be Vincent van Gogh, but there is also a wide selection of books on his contemporaries and related schools of art. You will also find a selection of photographic books, DVDs, children’s books and books on Amsterdam. There are also as many as five works from the Van Gogh Museum Relievo Collection hanging on the walls. The documentary Vincent van Gogh, A Life Devoted to Art is played continually on a large TV screen. All visitors to the shop are also surprised by the wonderful view. The windows provide a stunning view over the Museumplein, looking out towards the Rijksmuseum.
