Launch of Museumplein Ticket

Access to the cultural heart of Amsterdam with a single ticket? That became possible from June 2014, thanks to the introduction of the Museumplein Ticket by the Rijksmuseum, the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the Royal Concertgebouw, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and the Van Gogh Museum. The tickets provide guaranteed fast entry to the three museums on the Museumplein and entrance to a concert of the ticket-holder’s choice at the Royal Concertgebouw, including concerts by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra. The Museumplein Ticket is on sale for €90 in five-star hotels in Amsterdam.

Milestone in partnership
The Museumplein Ticket offers a solution for visitors who are staying for a short time in Amsterdam. They no longer have to wait in the regular queues and a number of seats are kept available for every concert, including those that are sold out. ‘We already work together with the institutions on the Museumplein on many levels. The development of a single ticket that offers our visitors a different service has been on our joint wish list for a long time. The fact that we can now make this offer is an important milestone in that partnership,’ says Axel Rüger, Director of the Van Gogh Museum.

The Royal Concertgebouw, Royal Concert Orchestra and the three museums attract millions of visitors every year. Their location on the Museumplein, less than 100 meters apart, is unique in the world. It is the ambition of these five institutions of international standing to work together to publicise the Museumplein brand and the cultural heart of Amsterdam even more strongly.
