Friday Nights: ‘Van Gogh Talks’

From April, a new section was added to the Friday Nights programme at the Van Gogh Museum: Van Gogh Talks. In this section, young creative talents from Amsterdam talk about their fascination for the life and work of Vincent van Gogh.

Guest artists
In September, for example, artists Alexandra Duvekot and Wouter Klein Velderman were guest speakers at the inspiring Van Gogh Talks. They received many enthusiastic reactions from the Friday Night visitors. Alexandra Duvekot (Gerrit Rietveld Academy) conducted research into the sounds that plants make and the way in which plants are able to communicate. She expresses this in works such as The Plant Orchestra and ‘De Hartslag van een Bos’ (The Heartbeat of a Forest). Wouter Klein Velderman (Sandberg Institute) creates sculptures and installations from industrial materials such as metal, PVC, canvas or wood. He recently created new sculptures especially for the dance performance ÚT (OET) by Krisztina de Châtel.
